Brand new mic died after less than one second having inserted brand new battery. I had exactly the same experience with a previos NT4 which the supplier replaced. Is this a common fault?

Rode stereo mic - died after new battery inserted. The light comes on for an instant then dies. The mic is unuseable now. Supplier may offer to replace - but am too worried to go this way...

Good windscreen/windsock for rode nt4 stereo mic? - i bought one of these for my ng2 mics, works pretty good in low wind. it's desiged to slip over the foam screen. there is a zeplin style one that works great in heavier wind but it costs about $450. b&h

Bump? the nt-4 seems to be a hard one to find a good wind sock for, eh? thanks for any links or info...

Recording a choir - yeah that's why i was looking at the msp ones :-) will a pop shield not alleviate the problem? what's the difference between the large & small diaphragm? is the large one just more sensitive? thanks you for all your contribut

Hi i'm not a pro but the oktava mk012 (with all capsules) work for me and are within your budget i personally prefer them to rode nt4 or nt5 haven't tried the c541b. i'm sure someone more knowlegdeable will chime in pretty soon cheers...

Recording a choir - just to comfort eviloverlord: msp stands for matched stereo pair so they are well, uhm matched the msp-8 comes with 2 large diaphragm capsules as well for recording choir alone i would go for msp-6 you can allways buy another

Affordable stereo microphone - hi, i'm a beginner, so... personally i prefer oktava msp mk012-6 the mk012 isn not a stereo mic but you get different capsules (omni, card, hyperc.) in a stereo set (e.400,- ) i prefer these above rode nt4 or

Audio technica makes a reasonably priced xy stereo condenser microphone. i don't remember the model number off hand? i have a similar, older sony just like that and use it exactly as you have described. stereo freak ms. Remy ann...

Rode nt4 condensor? - we were using the grace for the test. he plugs into some fender acousonic (?) amp onstage and then that goes out to a midas h3000 56-channel house console, via the amps xlr di out...

Rode nt4 condensor? - cool. i'm glad the 81 worked for you. i know a lot of people love it and really use it as their ''baseline'' by which all other pencil mics are judged. i will give it that, despite my previous comments, it can be a versatile mic
