Transfering dat to daw..the best way? - thanks, i just got an answer from rme (great customer support, by the way) that multiface simply to not have a 16bit output mode. it always goes out at 24bit and cubase truncates 8-bits when set to record in 16bi Hi, the best thing is to bring your tascam and dat tapes to the mastering studio, they will take care of the transfert if they need to do so. Me too. - i was browsing the internet about so many gear-related things i can't remember which one lead me here. i was probably researching the rnp or tlm-103 at the time. on the other hand, it could have been rme multiface, apogee mini-me, at4033, at4050 I found it thru a google search for a fee vst effect, and the funny part is that now i can't even remember what the vst was!... Word clock, rme and the ada8000 - i have an [b:3bf6f897ab]ada[/b:3bf6f897ab]8000 clocked to an rme. it's only the multiface, but it still says ''rme'' so i guess it counts. i honestly haven't used the thing as it is for spare emergency channels, but may Nobody? i'm not being discriminated against because i admit to owning b* gear, am i? The next step.... - carefree, multiface is an rme product... check the specs out at their website. when anyone refers to pres they mean preamps... usually for mics. they range quite significantly in price and quality... i.e. $2500 for two good channels Welcome wanderer, as you've already surmised you need a mulitrack system so that you can mix after the event (rather than the live stereo mix you do now). it looks like you're using about 12 chnanels so far, imho 16 would certainly...
