Mbox or digi 002 - get the 002. 96k is slowly becoming a standard. at least with major label projects.

Mbox or digi 002 - getting the mbox and a small-ish external mixer for sub-mix may be a great idea. with the mixer you'll force yourself more often to get a good sound/balance going in, rather then trying to fix things after the fact like so many people s

Mbox or digi 002 - go with the 002 rack, 8 ins easily and cheaply expandable to 18 ins, includes the software for free unlike the rme and other protoools pretenders, and if the day comes to upgrade digidesign will trade up for your equipment, something n

Sample accurate? help please/audio quality - i've never tried rme but i hear amazing things about it! the fireface 800 is a new product and it seems to be very good! i'm buying stuff for my homestudio now and the goal i have is to be portable! firewire

Can't you save your things with the vs and then transfer them via usb to your computer! for what i know the vs2480 saves files in wav format, so you can transfer them to your computer, either by usb or firewire...

Mbox or digi 002 - i have an mbox and i am very happy with it. since you are 15 you are most likely looking to learn and do your first recordings. the mbox is all inclusive (software, preamps, converters etc...) and very easy to set up and get recording.

Even though i do use protools, i think they're better alternatives to the mbox and the 002. for starters and if you are set on using protools as your daw, maybe get the 002r its only $1200 but...

Dropouts

Using sonar on amd 64 opteron and samples on amd 64 4000. sound card is rme fireface 800. And using 1g lan. playing one track with ewql plat. Strings. Sound is excellent (using dfd). But, it's using 64% cpu and 2% disk...

A/d - for acustic/ classical location-recording rme fireface 800, together with audient asp008 preamp (via adat) is a nice combination. daniel

I use an motu 828mkii. Probably much better than my mic placement so i have not really considered them as any weak part of the link. Sometime use an mbox. Can´t say that is the weak link either. gunnar...
