Even though i do use protools, i think they're better alternatives to the mbox and the 002.

Can't you save your things with the vs and then transfer them via usb to your computer!

Using sonar on amd 64 opteron and samples on amd 64 4000.
sound card is rme fireface 800. And using 1g lan.

Hey all, hope u guys had great holidays...
im looking at a few diff interfaces, really like rme products,
can anyone here give me their feedback on the fireface 800?
quality, ease of use, compare to/with etc,.

I use an motu 828mkii. Probably much better than my mic placement so i have not really considered them as any weak part of the link. Sometime use an mbox. Can´t say that is the weak link either.

Mmmm - my dilemma too. I'd like to move to a desknote to kill the fan noise and firewire seems to be the way to go, if it's reliable and doesn't make lots of expensive pre chain worthless.

i have my final studio setup ready!
