I got a fireface today and the manual states that it is compatible to the mackie protocol.
i run logic, have a microkontrol, a keystation pro and a fcb1010. Could any of those control totalmix via lc xmu?

Im not using 8 channels at once yet but the rme fireface 800 is
something that you dont need to go out right away and buy pre's or converters for as the onboard stuff is pretty good as is.

Is there some kind of tutorial how to use lc xmu with logic and live? i haven't tried lc xmu for a long time and i'm afraid i have forgotten everything...

Thanks to george and the nice people @ rme and synthax. I got it fixed! turns out my cheesy e-mu card was mucking things up on the irq side of things.

Pro tools requires digi hardware (or the mpowered as the case may be). no way to use a fireface with it.

rme's instruction manual is very thourough. did you follow their instructions in seting up your system?
if you don't have a copy of the manual, you can download it here:

I'm not familiar with the apogee ensemble, but i'm willing to hazard a guess that the converters will be better than the rme. Just a guess, and i'm not a professional.
