Just picked up a plextor premium at my local computer store (microcenter) they had a about 6 in the store where i was. You just have to do some searching.... All's well that ends well - i must have better powers of persuasion than i realized. sitting on the coffee table when i got home tonight was a box from plextor with a reconditioned px-716a. i'll be shooting them a letter of thanks shortly. plextor --update-- well, i got in touch with the plextor engineers and they said that this claim is completely erroneous. however, (understandably) no one would give me their approval to ''quote'' them specifically. instead, they gave me the number for... I think supermediastore.Com carries taiyo yuden... those and mam-a gold reference are my faves... ty's are pretty cheap - they'll probably average 40-50 cents. mam-a golds are more at around $1.30 each. i use both regularly,...
