Whats the best studio power amp for the $ - i second the nomination for the hafler trans novas ... a used p3000 runs about $250 ... for 150 watts a side.. david hafler (the designer) has a vast background in amp technology starting in the 60's with dy I can't vouch for any particular power amp, and i'm sure others will respond with suggestions. but if you haven't bought your monitors yet, seriously consider getting active ones so you don't have to concern yourself with power amps.... Good mastering software - hi ammitsboel & john, thanks for your valuable comments. i have hafler p3000 & p4000 (p4000 is out of service now, looking for mosfets not available in india) amps for my jbl lsr 32's. i am satisfy with the sound but not happy. Hey guatam, your uad-1 is a great mastering tool, use the quality eqs and compressors to your advantage, but to master you need not just the plugins, you need good monitors, don't bother unless you have super flat monitors, or... The right amp for my passive monitors - ditto on the p3000. it's just one of those products that is long on the bang and short on the buck. sounds rather good too. The best low priced power amp imo is the hafler p3000 ... they are 150 watts @ 8n ohm load ... You can find these used all day long for around $250....
