Not an effect, i don't know if this is the right spot.
i've been researching 16 track digital recorders. i need portability. looking at the fostex vf160, korg d1600 mkii. any opinions or experience?

I'm having trouble getting the jvm to record well on my fostex vf160 (16 track stand alone unit).

You need a soundcard with multitrack options like motu 828 mkii or the protools digi 002 or whatever...
cubase and so on are programs that let you record multitrack! it depends on the soundcard and it's ins!

I own a vf160. it's pretty dope.
the only things that suck about them are:
- you can't line-out the onboard display to a monitor
- the internal mic preamps are terrible
