Re - thanks i know about the sound room.but there prices are to much.there is a certified diler in the us now.i will buy them from there.my question was if it jumping from c430 to oktavas is a huge step?

Re - if you've narrowed your search down to the oktava's you'll need to be certain you get them from a reliable source. some are made in china and from what i understand they tend to have a lower quality control standard. also, even if they are russian ma

Re - hey, i've got the c 430's too, i went to earthworks website and got their free demo/sampler of there drum mic kit, and it sounds damn good, you should check it out, the mics aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. bobby

Re - d6 kick $200 pair of the above metioned akg c430 $200, or a pair of new kel mic for like $200/pair can use these mics for drum ohs, acoustic gtr, vox, the kels for gtr, very versitile a couple sm57s at $80-90 a pop, 180 can use for vox, snare, toms

Oh - the whole line is exalent i hjave e901-902 on kick.or jyst the 901 if a bassist want to mic the bass amp 903 snare 3 904 toms 906 guitar or sometimes 2 toms. akg c430 overhead.happy with them.very natural.a litle noisy if gained but who cares abo

Have you heard these or are you saying they're awesome looking. i'm very anxious to try the 904's....

Akg c430 mics? need advice please.

Anybody have experience and/or opinions about the akg c430 microphones? i would primarily be using them for drum over heads ,but would also like something that might be appropriate for acoustic guitar, acoustic piano and hand percussion. Any and all...

Akg c430 vs at pro-37 - well, i'm just starting out and the only places i really know about are musiciansfriend, pssl, sam ash, and ebay. suggestions as to where i could look up the adk or kels? eric

Used the c430. not a big fan. very tricky to use as stereo drum overheads and pick up the whole kit. not bad to use just to spot mic a cymbal. poor off-axis response....

Akg c430 vs at pro-37 - oooooo..... i think you ask too much of the c430. probably wanna scratch it off your list. might look into some adk mics. i think they have some good cheap ones. or possibly kel mics.

Oh mics for recording and pa - the tightest pattern condensor i know for drum overheads would be the akg c430. they are not a fantastic mic, but the main problems i had with them was their poor off-axis response (a plus for live situations), and their

Sm 58's and hi hat - no sm58 on hh. wrong choice. try with condenser: studio project c4, akg c1000, akg c430, at 3031, at 4041, rode nt3, shure ksm 109 or similar affordable small condensers. even the behringer b5 (actually ''garbage'') is better than
